When I saw this news, however, it needed to be shared right away.
Toxic chemicals are actually being found INSIDE homes in Maui, Hawaii. Hawaii is home to more than 1000 GMO test plots. In comparison, California, the largest agriculture state in America has a little over 100.

ANOTHER HOME IN PAIA IS CONTAMINATED WITH HERBICIDES. THIRD HOME IN PAIA TESTS POSTIVE FOR HERBICIDES! The Hawaii Department of Agriculture tested a third home in Paia after a resident complained that they were over sprayed ....the test results came back POSITIVE FOR 6 DIFFERENT HERBICIDES....INSIDE THE HOME. AGAIN. THIS IS A HOME LOCATED ON BALDWIN AVENUE.
The Department of Agriculture conducted the tests in noviembre 2011 and they found 6 herbicides INSIDE the house (in the bedrooms, the kitchen and on the trees in the yard): Dicamba, Diruron, 2,4-D, Pendimethanlin, Ametryn, and Hexazinone were all found inside of the home. Once again, the Department of Agriculture has failed to complete its investigation even though they have had MORE THAN 4 YEARS to do so. They also decided not to warn nearby residents that their homes may have also been contaminated.
The Department of Agriculture even failed to contact our state toxicologist, Dr. Brooks, to give her an opportunity to evaluate the public health risks to residents who were likely exposed to these harmful herbicides INSIDE of their own homes in Paia.The agricultural industry continues to say that these chemicals are safe for limited one time acute exposures at certain levels. However, there have been no scientific studies that have evaluated the health impacts on humans of combining these chemicals together. In addition, people who are living in homes that have been contaminated are being constantly exposed over time, as the residues are found on the walls, the cabinets, the furniture, the carpets, etc.
In the past 6 weeks HC&S once again sprayed newly planted fields in the Paia area. In light of this new information, Paia Elementary School needs to be tested.I have attached official copies of the Department of Agriculture test results that were conducted on 11/23/2011 from the home in Paia which shows concentrations of the 6 different herbicides that were found inside. There are five different samples that are posted, each from a different location in the home.
PLEASE CALL THE PAIA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL to insist that the school (both the regular school and the Hawaiian Immersion Program) be tested to protect the safety of the students. Several constituents have notified Senator Kalani English's office about their concerns, but he personally has yet to place any calls to ask for testing of the school.Please call him to let him know that you would like him to ensure that the school is tested immediately.

Over a long period of time, many of these chemicals have been proven harmful in a multitude of ways, destroying gut bacteria and weakening the immune system, sex hormone changes, birth defects, miscarriages, DNA mutation, live and kidney damage, reproductive organ mutations and more.
The residents, especially children, could be permanently altered by the presence of these chemicals.
We all could be.
The fact is that these chemicals are not just in these resident's living room window sills. Many of these chemicals are on our food.
The uncomfortable reality is that the reason why these pesticides are in Maui resident's their living rooms is BECAUSE the GMO chemical companies want to and are spraying them on our food... around the world. And they do not wash, dry or cook off. We eat them, our children eat them.
These GMO test plots are where the chemical companies test and plan the chemical combinations to be sprayed on new GMOs. Many of these same chemical combinations are already being sprayed on our current GMOs, which make up 85-100% of crops like corn, soy, sugar, cotton seed oil, canola oil and smaller percentages of apples, potatoes, squash and bananas. UNLABELED.
So this horrfifying evidence of Hawaiians being poisoned in their own homes from pesticides residues on their windowsills, is not only impactful because we feel for them and want justice for them, but it is horrifying because what is happening them is a part of wha tis hapoening to ALL of us in North America and in many parts around the world.
We are ALL consuming toxic chemicals on our food. Even those of us who are eating organic ( although we are eating far less) because of drift and pollution in the air, water, soil and fertilizers. We are being poisoned by being GMO chemical farmers and NOW is the time to stand up, speak up, say NO, it stops NOW.
